Children's ward

We see patients across the entire spectrum of paediatrics, including children after trauma and surgery. Thanks to good cooperation with other departments, we care for children after orthopaedic, surgical, urological, gynaecological and ENT procedures.

The children's ward consists of three parts.

Intermediate Intensive Care Unit

The Intermediate Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive care in monitored beds in separate rooms. Children who require intensive care and supervision, e.g. after surgery or trauma, are admitted here.

Standard children's ward

The standard children's ward has rooms with separate sanitary facilities.

Children's long-term and intensive care unit (DIOP)

A unique and specific part of the Children's Ward in the Czech Republic is the separate Department of Long-term and Intensive Nursing Care for Children (DIOP), which was opened in September 2018. This ward has fully equipped beds in separate rooms with the possibility of permanent stay of an accompanying person. Children with serious life-limiting illnesses are admitted to the ward. This type of care is part of the comprehensive care for chronically ill children with life-limiting illnesses provided by the Hořovice Hospital and the necessary continuity with outpatient and home care. The care includes not only care for physical health symptoms, but also psychological, social and spiritual care.

Outpatient clinics of general practitioners for children and adolescents are accepting new patients. For more information please contact the surgeries.

Health information is confidential and we can only disclose it with the patient's consent to persons designated in writing by the patient on the Consent for Hospital Admission. It will be provided by the attending physician in the afternoon or by prior arrangement with the ward nurses.
