Spectrum of care
The spectrum of procedures mainly includes the most common paediatric diagnoses such as inguinal and umbilical hernias, hydroceles (watery hernias), phimosis (narrowed foreskin) or testicular retention (undescended testicles). We also perform removal of hemangiomas, skin lesions on the recommendation of a dermatologist, or moles under general anesthesia in day surgery.

Experienced team of pediatric surgeons
Children's surgery in Hořovice is built on an experienced team of doctors. In addition to MUDr. Vojtěch Dotlačil, who has long been involved in paediatric surgery in its entirety - from newborn surgery to abdominal and colorectal surgery to paediatric proctology - and other colleagues from the Motol University Hospital, another experienced paediatric surgeon, MUDr. Michal Dušek, has been expanding the team since September. He has many years of experience in neonatal surgery and also specialises in the treatment of congenital defects, abdominal surgery and paediatric urology with a main focus on genital defects.
"We provide day surgery procedures that can be performed safely and without the need for prolonged hospital stays. Parents can thus rely on top-quality care and comfort for the whole family," adds MUDr. Michal Dušek.
Network of referral clinics
A great advantage is the wide network of outpatient clinics within the AKESO medical facilities, which provides patients with convenience and easy accessibility. Parents can choose whether to visit an outpatient clinic directly at the Hořovice Hospital, the AKESO POLICLINICE in Prague-Nové Butovice, the AKESO AMBULANCY in Plzeň or the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun.
All outpatient clinics serve as an indication for planned surgical procedures, but they also provide general paediatric surgical care. However, if a surgical procedure is necessary, it takes place after a thorough indication in the children's surgery regime of the Hořovice Hospital.
