The Hořovice hospital is more than an ordinary regional hospital. The hospital offers a wide range of outpatient clinics and consulting rooms connected to individual inpatient wards. It provides specialized medical services beyond the basic medical disciplines to patients from all over the Czech Republic.
Hořovice Hospital is part of the AKESO medical holding, one of the leading healthcare providers in the Czech Republic. In addition to the Hospital Hořovice, the AKESO holding operates the AKESO POLICLINIC in Prague, the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, the Mental Rehabilitation Centre, the Day Psychotherapy Sanatorium "Ondřejov" and the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre, which is part of the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of the Pardubice Region. The Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department has the largest maternity hospital in Central Bohemia with its Porodnice Hořovice.
In 2014, the Neonatology Department obtained the status of a Perinatology Intermediate Care Centre with the possibility to provide care to newborns from the 31st week of pregnancy.
In addition to basic surgical care, the Surgical Department of Hospital Hořovice also provides gastroenterological care within the IBD Centre (a centre for patients with non-specific intestinal inflammation - i.e. Crohn's disease) to patients from all over the country.
In 2014, the Children's Department opened the first facility in the Czech Republic for children with chronic impairment of basic life functions - the Children's Intensive Care Unit.
The Orthopaedic Department applies over 1,000 total hip and knee joint replacements per year and automatically provides the necessary medical rehabilitation for its recipients at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun.
The Hořovice hospital is constantly expanding its outpatient services, both in terms of expanding their spectrum and the quality of the services offered.
In recent years, the hospital has undergone extensive reconstruction, first in its outpatient and then in its inpatient section. Today, all of its inpatient wards are equipped with single to four-bedded rooms with private sanitary facilities, a television in each room and Internet access via WiFi.
The hospital's own pharmacy, providing not only a wide range of medicinal and cosmetic products, but also health and rehabilitation aids, is another significant trump card in the game of patient satisfaction and health.
Patients can use the parking lot in front of the hospital with more than 100 parking spaces.
