St. Nicholas and the angel were first welcomed in the hospital kindergarten by Mgr. Daniela Korosová, head of the children's group. "In September, many children cried, but now they see there is nothing to be afraid of in our kindergarten. After all, we left even the devil in hell," said Ms. Korosova. She told us that the number of children has grown to 23 in the three months the kindergarten has been open. But that was a long time ago and nobody has a pacifier anymore," the head assured us. The children performed poems and songs for St Nicholas and even did a choral dance to the fairy tale, Arrow Rose.
St. Nicholas and his entourage, i.e. two angels and this time also the devil, visited the children's ward of the hospital a little later. The St. Nicholas group sang carols with the children's patients and delighted them with a devil's ride, spontaneously performed by the children's doctors. Their improvised costumes and their ability to communicate with the children created a very pleasant atmosphere. Hopefully, the visit of St. Nicholas helped the children to forget about the worries associated with their stay in the hospital at least for a while.
The blood donors of the blood transfusion department of the hospital did not miss the St. Nicholas gift. On Tuesday, nurses distributed St. Nicholas gingerbread to more than eighty blood donors.
