Over the ten years of its existence, the Neonatal Case Studies Days have established a firm place in the calendar of professional events and are rightfully among the most important meetings of the neonatology community in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This year's edition was exceptional not only for its rich professional programme, but also for the celebration of the first significant anniversary of this traditional conference.
MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, Chief physician of the Neonatal Department of Hospital Hořovice, who has been leading the conference since its first year, is behind the creation and long-term organization of the event.
"When we organised the first edition ten years ago, our aim was to create a space for open sharing of experience from clinical practice. I am very pleased that the conference has gradually become a respected professional platform that annually connects neonatologists and nurses from all over the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The mutual exchange of experience and inspiration between individual departments is extremely important for the further development of the field," said MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová.
The professional programme was also extremely varied this year. The participants had the opportunity to listen to more than thirty case studies focused on a wide range of topics in the field of neonatology. Cases of complex care of premature newborns, the difficulty of unmonitored pregnancies and diagnosis of rare diseases were presented. The individual presentations were complemented by expert discussions, which provided a valuable exchange of experiences and perspectives of experts from different medical institutions.
The jubilee edition also included the launch of a new revised edition of the book "What awaits us in the maternity ward and what at home?", authored by MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová and co-authored by MUDr. Martin Gregora. The publication is intended primarily for expectant and new parents and offers practical information and advice on the postpartum period and the first weeks of the baby's life.
In addition to the professional programme, there was also the traditional social evening, which took place on Thursday 4 June. Guests enjoyed a pleasant informal gathering accompanied by live music and an attractive bartending show. The friendly atmosphere created an ideal space for establishing new professional contacts and deepening cooperation between the various departments.
The 10th anniversary edition of the Neonatal Case Days confirmed that professional sharing of experience and interdisciplinary collaboration remain one of the key pillars of quality neonatal care.
