Obligation to wear a respirator

25. 2. 2021

As of today, 25 February 2021, it is mandatory to wear a respirator in all areas of the hospital and pharmacy.

In view of the worsening state of the COVID-19 epidemic and the spread of the British mutation of the coronavirus, increased respiratory protection is mandatory from today, 25 February 2021.

Everyone is required to wear a respirator to enter hospitals and pharmacies:

  • A non-rebreather respirator with a filtration efficiency of at least 95% according to the relevant standards (e.g. FFP2/KN 95)

or

  • two overlapping medical face masks.

In the case of respirators and facepieces, it does not matter whether or not it is made of nano-material, but what standard the product meets. The designation FFP2, KN95 is a guarantee of up to 95% filtration efficiency for respirators.

It is also possible to use two disposable respirators on top of each other. However, this method of protection is chosen only for a temporary period of time, taking into account that not everyone is able to purchase a respirator immediately.

The Ministry of Health's emergency measure can be found here. The obligation to wear respirators in healthcare facilities is in force until further notice.
