Every year on this day, the head nurse of the hospital distributes a red rose to all nurses as a thank you for their dedicated and demanding work.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our nurses, nursing assistants and last but not the least the orderlies for the diligence, willingness and helpfulness with which they carry out their work. For most of them it is a mission that they fulfill conscientiously and with the clear goal of helping people," says Mgr. Jiří Pichlík, head nurse at Hořovice Hospital, adds: "Nearly 600 nurses and orderlies work in our hospital. I am very proud of our nurses and orderlies. I am very proud of them and I am very happy that they are doing their job with full commitment, despite the current situation, which is also affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, and I am glad that today's roses put an even bigger smile on their faces."
On 12 May each year we celebrate International Nurses' Day, through which we commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale, English nurse and founder of the nursing profession.
