"We presented the concept of palliative care in our hospital with an emphasis on palliative care for children to the representatives of the Central Bohemian Region. We visited the Department of Long-Term Nursing Intensive Care for Children, which we opened in the hospital last autumn, and the Department of Post-acute Intensive Care for Children, which is located in the new pavilion of the hospital and which, with its thirteen modern beds equipped with the highest level of medical technology, is one of the best facilities of its kind in the Czech Republic," says Michal Průša, MD, Director of the Hořovice Hospital.
"The private regional hospital in Hořovice provides a very wide range of services, for example, also for paediatric patients, from the maternity ward to the intensive care unit for children to long-term nursing care," emphasised the Councillor for Health and Safety, JUDr. Robert Bezděk, CSc. "We are setting up specialised palliative wards in hospitals managed by the region. This type of care has been developing rapidly in recent times and cooperation between county and private facilities is important," the councillor added. Representatives of the Central Bohemian Region also visited palliative beds located in the internal ward.
