"It's the next step. Palliative care is starting to be talked about openly. I see interest in palliative care growing not only in the medical and nursing community, but also in the non-medical professions. Many of them now understand that the subject of dying cannot be avoided, but if they know something about it and can prepare themselves for such a situation, they can cope better. The public is also more receptive to this topic, which used to be taboo," comments the head of the children's ward at Hořovice Hospital, who is also the chair of the Section of Children's Palliative Care of the Czech Society of Palliative Medicine and a member of the committee of the Czech Medical Society of Palliative Medicine ČLS JEP.
More about the need for palliative medicine in an interview for the magazine Good News, Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation.
