AKESO POLICLINIC is opening a new anaesthesia outpatient clinic

24. 8. 2026

AKESO POLICLINIC in Prague’s Nové Butovice district is expanding its services to include a new anaesthesiology outpatient clinic. It will open on 7 September 2026 and will offer patients the opportunity to undergo a pre-anaesthetic assessment prior to a planned procedure right here in Prague.

Pre-anaesthetic assessment as part of pre-operative preparation

A pre-anaesthetic assessment forms part of a patient’s preparation prior to a planned procedure requiring anaesthetic care. The patient attends the assessment having already undergone a full pre-operative examination. The anaesthetist then assesses the patient’s readiness and state of health in relation to the planned procedure.

It is precisely this care that will now be available at the AKESO POLICLINIC.

The outpatient clinic will open on Monday 7 September 2026and will subsequently be available to patients every working Monday from 7.00 am to 3.30 pm, except on public holidays.

The outpatient clinic will always be staffed by one anaesthetist, with individual physicians taking turns to work there.

Closer to patients from Prague and the surrounding area

The main reason for establishing the new outpatient clinic is to facilitate pre-operative preparation for patients from Prague and the surrounding area who are scheduled for surgery atHospital Hořovice.

“With the new outpatient clinic, we aim to bring pre-anaesthetic care closer to patients from Prague and the surrounding area in particular. This means they won’t have to travel to Hořovice twice – first for the pre-anaesthetic examination and then again for their scheduled procedure,” says Dr Barbora Špilerová, deputy chief physician of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation at Hospital Hořovice.

All necessary examinations under one roof

If a patient’s pre-operative examination is incomplete, the necessary tests can be carried out atthe AKESO POLICLINIC. The option of having all necessary tests carried out in one place can therefore make it easier for patients to complete their pre-operative preparation in time for their scheduled procedure.

“If the pre-operative examinations are incomplete, patients can have the necessary tests carried out at AKESO so that their preparation is completed in time for the scheduled operation. This means they will have access to the necessary care all under one roof,” adds Dr Špilerová.
