First, MUDr. Aleš Klán, a long-time head of the gynaecology and obstetrics department, came to greet the course participants. Then MUDr. Lenka Martolosová took over the floor and explained the course of childbirth in an engaging way and gave valuable information on how to behave in case of a rushed birth. Dr. Martolosová answered many questions of the participating police officers and at the end of the course she handed them a certificate of completion of the obstetrics course.
Lieutenant Mgr. Pavel Kincl, Commander of the District Police Department of the Czech Republic in Beroun, thanked Dr. Martolosová and the hospital management for the realization of the course. "Every police officer knows how to handle weapons and at the same time wishes that there will not be a situation when he will be forced to use them. So, even in case of a birth, our colleagues are now ready to help, but at the same time we will all wish that such a situation would arise," stated Lieutenant Kincl.
The cooperation between the police and the hospital is praised by the police officers and the hospital management. "With this course, we would like to start a series of other training events, whether it will be first aid courses or other specialized topics," said Marcela Pučelíková, spokesperson for the Police Department in Beroun.
