The seminar included three lectures by leading experts in the field of pain management. The first was a presentation by Lenka Kasanická, MD, on "Treatment of acute pain in adults", followed by Vladimír Mixa, MD, with a lecture on "Anaesthesia in the paediatric patient", in which he dealt with the issue of putting children to sleep and the amount of substances used so that the child is not in pain and at the same time is not overdosed. At the end of the seminar MUDr. Michal Průša, Director of the Hořovice Hospital, gave a lecture on "Treatment of chronic pain", where, through the history of the discovery and administration of opioid substances, he talked about people suffering from chronic, permanent pain and presented how these patients should be treated and what should be given to them and in what quantity for pain relievers, so that their pain becomes as unbearable as possible.
