What does healthcare look like in practice? And what opportunities does it offer young people at the start of their careers? The answers to these questions were provided by the first annual JOB DAY event, which took place at the Hospital Hořovice. More than seventy students from secondary and higher medical schools from Plzeň and Příbram visited the hospital.

Last week, the first year of the JOB DAY event took place, organized by the Hospital Hořovice, a member of the AKESO medical holding . The aim was to introduce students to modern healthcare not only as a field of study, but above all as a meaningful and promising career path. The programme offered a combination of presentations, practical demonstrations and personal meetings with experts from practice.

The programme was opened by the Chief Operating Officer of the hospital Mgr. Jiří Pichlík, DiS., who introduced the students and teachers to the AKESO medical holding, its vision and the wide range of care provided at the Hospital Hořovice. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of personal contact with students and the opportunity to show healthcare as it really is - modern, dynamic and full of opportunities.

"I am convinced that the students and their teachers took away not only a lot of valuable information, but also inspiration for their future professional direction. It is personal encounters with young people that allow us to present healthcare as a meaningful, promising and modern profession. At the same time, we have a unique opportunity to show our hospital as it really is. That is why events like this are of crucial importance for the future of our hospital and the entire AKESO holding," saidthe Chief Operating Officer.

The introductory part was followed by the HR block, during which the students were introduced to the possibilities of internships, traineeships and future careers. Specific information was given about scholarships, benefits and support for young healthcare professionals when entering practice. The educational dimension of the programme was further underlined by a practical demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) under the guidance of an experienced nurse Bc. Rostislav Hájek, DiS., from the Department of Anaesthesiology and AICU.

One of the highlights of the day was an interactive tour of the hospital. The students got a glimpse behind the scenes of the Pathology Department, Clinical Laboratories, AICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Delivery Rooms and Neonatology. There were also expert presentations - for example, the Radiodiagnostic Department with real images or the Central Operating Rooms and Orthopaedics, where participants could see the instrumentarium or, for example, total endoprostheses.

The day ended with a social gathering in the conference hall and a light-hearted quiz for prizes. The JOB DAY thus brought the students not only new knowledge and practical experience, but also inspiration and a more concrete idea of their future career path.

"Supporting young healthcare professionals, and especially future nurses, at the beginning of their professional journey is crucial for us. We are glad that we were able to introduce them not only to the environment of our hospital, but also to the fact that healthcare is a field with great meaning, responsibility and future," adds Adéla Šubertová, MBA, LL.M.

We would like to thank all students, teachers and our colleagues who participated in the organization of the event for their participation, energy and professional approach. The first edition of JOB DAY confirmed that personal encounters and sharing of experiences play a key role in building a new generation of healthcare professionals.
