Hořovice participation in the Beroun Nursing Day

31. 5. 2016

On Friday 27th May, the "Beroun Nursing Day 2016" took place in the brand new conference room of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital. The seminar was held with a very large representation of nurses and midwives from Horovice.

About a hundred nurses from various medical institutions were welcomed by Ondřej Horaček, MD, PhD, head of the Rehabilitation Centre and Ilona Kupková, head nurse of the Beroun hospital. The Hořovice nurses focused on presenting current issues in the fields of obstetrics and neonatology. For example, Mgr. Jitka Žaludová and Petra Stará presented the history and present of the Maternity Hospital U Sluneční brány. They explained that the quantitative increase in the number of births is due to both the innovative approach of the management of the gynaecology and obstetrics department and the pressure of the mothers themselves to ensure a safe and individual approach in the care of women.

"Openness to new methods and friendliness towards patients is reflected in the steadily increasing number of deliveries, which last year numbered 1,580. This fact speaks volumes about the quality of the services provided in Hořovice", says Blanka Červenková, head nurse at Hořovice Hospital and long-time head nurse in the gynaecology and obstetrics department.

Her successor, Mgr. Pavla Fíkarová and Petra Houbová presented ultrasound examinations in pregnancy, while their colleagues Bc. Marie Prošková from neonatology presented postnatal care for the first triplets born last year in Hořovice. The special issue of "Bonding in practice" was then addressed by Bc. Romana Medková from the neonatal department. "We would like to thank all the active participants for their exemplary representation," says the head nurse of Hořovice Hospital.
