The Maternity Hospital U Sluneční brány in Hořovice can be proud of another jubilee baby. On Monday, 25th August, it welcomed this year's thousandth baby into the world. The lucky mother was Petra Čepelová from Křižatek u Berouna, who gave birth to her daughter Emily Fidlmann at exactly 1:32 pm. She weighed 3.30 kg and measured 48 cm. The new mother chose the hospital in Hořovice not only because of its proximity, but also because of positive references from friends.
The fact that little Emily became the thousandth baby of the Hořovice hospital surprised the young mother very much. She was very pleased to receive congratulations from the head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department MUDr. Aleš Klán, from the head of the Neonatology Department MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová and also from the head nurse of Hořovice Hospital Blanka Červenková. The "delegation" of the hospital management presented the mother not only with flowers, but also with a package with everything necessary for the baby, prepared by the hospital pharmacy.
"A new baby is always a big event in our maternity hospital, so we present mothers not only with a flower, but also with a package from the pharmacy. Our maternity hospital is already known throughout the Central Bohemia region and can compete with the biggest Prague maternity hospitals. Not only mothers from the region come here, but also from Prague and other cities of the country, who are attracted by the pleasant and modern facilities, professional and kind staff," says the director of Hořovice Hospital, Luděk Pelikán, MD.
"I did not expect that so many people would come to wish me well on behalf of the hospital. It is very nice and pleasant" said the happy mother Petra Čepelová, who had not thought long about the choice of the hospital in Horovice. "Besides, I heard from a friend who gave birth here twice that she was happy here, so I wanted to give birth here. I have to say that I agree with her. The environment is nice, the nurses and doctors are nice," said the new mother.
It is common knowledge that the Hořovice maternity hospital is becoming more and more popular. "According to our data, the number of births has steadily increased over the years," says the head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department, MUDr. Aleš Klán. "Every year we welcome the thousandth baby a little earlier, which only proves that our maternity hospital is becoming more and more well-known. For the first time in history we have the thousandth baby and the thousandth birth in August. Compared to last year, we are showing an increase of 70 births at the moment. By all accounts, this year's births will be a record. The pleasing results are a reflection of the modernisation of the maternity hospital and also the work of a highly qualified team of doctors, nurses and nursing staff", adds MUDr. Klán.
