The fact that little Teodor became the one thousandth baby of the five hundredth baby in the Hořovice hospital surprised the young mother very much. She was very pleased to receive congratulations from the head of the neonatology department MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, from the head nurse of the obstetrics department Mgr. Pavla Fíkarová and also from the head nurse of the neonatology department Mgr. Kamila Přádová. The "delegation" of the Hořovice hospital presented the mother not only with flowers, but also with a package with everything necessary for the baby, prepared by the hospital pharmacy.
The new mother took the choice of the Hořovice maternity hospital for granted because it is the closest to her place of residence and she was informed from her surroundings about the high standard of the local maternity hospital. "I did not expect at all that so many people would come to congratulate me on behalf of the hospital and that Teodor would become a media star right after his birth. It is very nice and pleasant," said the happy and smiling mother Lucie Průšová, who works in the administration of a well-known pharmaceutical company. "In addition, I heard about the quality of the maternity hospital from friends, read references on the Internet and had positive references to Mr. Klán directly from my mother," says the new mother. She chose the Greek name Theodore (translated as God's gift) because of her fondness for Greece, whose islands she visits regularly. She says that she and her husband, Ing. Ondřej Průša, had a very positive impression on the Hořovice hospital from the first moment they started attending the antenatal clinic. "We were impressed with the hospital as soon as we entered it. The staff treated us pleasantly, the nurses and doctors were very helpful and kind," added the new mother.
"The 1,500th baby is a big event for our maternity hospital. The Hořovice maternity hospital is already known throughout the entire Central Bohemia region. The record number of births - on Monday, 22 December, we recorded the thousandth five-hundredth birth - is in a way a reflection not only of the large investments we have made in its reconstruction, but also of the professional approach of our staff," says Luděk Pelikán, M.D., Director of the Hořovice Hospital.
It is widely known that the Hořovice maternity hospital is increasingly popular. "Not only mothers from the region come here, but also from Prague and other cities of the country, attracted by the pleasant and modern facilities, professional and kind staff," says Milena Dokoupilová, head of the neonatology department. "According to our data, the number of births has been steadily increasing over the years. Compared to last year, we are currently showing an increase of about 100 births. The pleasing results are a reflection of the modernization of the maternity ward. I would like to remind you that this year, our hospital obtained the status of a perinatology centre. In October, we opened a brand-new reconstructed neonatology ward, which, with its equipment, design appearance, and family atmosphere, is a pearl not only of the Hořovice hospital but also of all similar facilities in the country. However, the conscientious work of a highly qualified team of doctors, nurses and nursing staff played the most important role in creating the new record", adds MUDr. Dokoupilová.
