On Saturday afternoon, visitors to the Old Castle could have their blood sugar or blood pressure measured. Nutritional therapists of the Hořovice Hospital and RN Beroun used a special scale to measure the ratio of muscle, fat and water in the body. They then gave advice on how to eat healthier and offered tastings of healthy delicacies. At another station, visitors could try first aid or learn how to perform hand hygiene. This station received a lot of attention, especially from the children visitors. As a reward, visitors took away not only valuable information about their health status, but also fruit and small gifts. In case the results of the indicative blood pressure and blood sugar tests were outside the norm, the visitors received contacts to the specialized outpatient clinics of the Hořovice hospital and RN Beroun for possible appointments.
The event was also attended by security forces, firefighters and insurance companies. The Health Days were moderated by Aleš Růžička, also known as the furious reporter of Radio Implus, assisted by Mgr. Kateřina Vicková, marketing specialist of the NH, who presented the range of services of individual departments of the Hořovice hospital. Ms. Vicková stressed the need for prevention, as early detection of any disease is essential for its subsequent care. Mayor of Hořovice Dr. Ing. Jiří Peřina thanked the Hořovice hospital for its cooperation and promised that a similar event will be repeated next year.
