Future nurses and midwives visited us

A large group of students and teachers from the University of Health Sciences (Dušková, Prague 5) visited the Hořovice Hospital on Wednesday 15 March. Over twenty future, but also working midwives and nurses had the opportunity to see the maternity ward U Sluneční brány, the neonatology department, the ARO and the Department for chronically ill children - OCHRIP. Three of them went to the central operating theatres. The hospital managers informed them about the specialization, instrumentation and capacity of each department and also about the specific problems being addressed there.

At the beginning of the visit, Blanka Červenková, the head nurse of the NH, and Mgr. Kateřina Vicková, marketing specialist of the hospital, who presented the history and organizational chart of the hospital in Hořovice. They talked to the students about the fundamental transformation that the hospital underwent after privatization. The future nurses were interested in the mode of operation of the maternity ward and delivery rooms, the quality of the instrumentation in the wards, as well as working conditions in the hospital, employee benefits and more.

During their studies, the students have already had the opportunity to get acquainted with the environment of several other medical institutions. However, they admitted that they were pleasantly surprised by the high level of the hospital in Hořovice. This is the second visit of the students of this school to Hořovice. The students were surprised not only by the high standard of the Hořovice hospital and the newly renovated modern premises, but also by the pleasant environment, the friendly and professional approach of the staff and the overall friendly atmosphere that prevails among the medical staff.
