Stool incontinence remains a sensitive topic that people often keep quiet about, even in front of their loved ones. Julius Örhalmi, M.D., Ph.D., FASCRS, MBA, in the program Visit to TN Live emphasized the importance of prevention, pelvic floor strengthening and the availability of effective operative treatment.

"If a patient comes in with the most severe form of incontinence, we first rule out malignancy. And then we offer to solve the incontinence with a simple sacral neuromodulation operation. This operation is fully covered by the health insurance" says Örhalmi, M.D., Ph.D., FASCRS, MBA.

Hořovice Hospital joined the World Incontinence Week by offering the public the opportunity to consult on the solution of problems related to faecal incontinence on 17 and 18 June. Treatment of this type of incontinence by sacral neuromodulation is dealt with in 5 centres in the Czech Republic and Hořovice Hospital is one of them.
