The following day, representatives of the Hořovice hospital management, i.e. the head of the Hořovice maternity hospital , MUDr. Věra Pavlů, the head of neonatology , MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, and the head nurse of the hospital , Blanka Červenková, came to wish the little jubilant Laura and her mother, thirty-year-old Lenka Hošková from Hořovice. The ladies' delegation presented the newlywed mother with a gift package from the hospital pharmacy.
The mother told us that the birth took place as planned. It is her second time in the Hořovice maternity hospital, as she gave birth to her son Matyáš here two and a half years ago. "Everything is great here. The Hořovice maternity hospital is very famous and I never thought for a moment that I would give birth somewhere else. I know very well that some mothers come here from Prague. The young doctor who delivered me was very nice. The nurses who take care of us here are equally pleasant," says Mrs. Hošková, who told us that she is thinking about having a third child.
It is well known that the Hořovice maternity hospital is becoming increasingly popular and its services are sought by women not only from Berounsko, but also from further afield. "Our maternity hospital is already well-known throughout the entire Central Bohemia region, which is why women come here not only from the surrounding region, but also from Prague and other cities of the country. They are attracted to us not only by the modern and pleasant facilities, but also - at least according to what they say - by the kind and professional staff," says Věra Pavlů, M.D., head of the maternity hospital U Sluneční brány.
"Every year we welcome the thousandth baby a little earlier, which only proves that Hořovice is becoming more and more famous among future parents," says her colleague MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, head of the Hořovice neonatal ward. And why is the maternity ward at Sluneční brána so popular among mothers-to-be? "We strive to provide not only medically quality, but also human care to all newborns and their families. At the same time, we try to create a home-like atmosphere," explains the neonatologist from Horovice.
Fifteen out of a thousand babies born in Hořovice this year were twins. Hořovice neonatology has an intensive care unit with the status of a perinatology centre for intermediate care and the staff is able to take care of babies born from the 31st gestational week of pregnancy.
Hořovice Maternity Hospital allows future parents to see the premises of the maternity hospital before the birth itself, through prenatal talks, which can be booked in advance by calling Mgr. Pavla Fíkarová, head nurse of the gynaecology and obstetrics department.
