Lovers' Day at the Transfusion Station

"We appreciate our donors. They are people who donate other human lives by being willing to give a piece of themselves," says Jana Šrámková, head nurse at the Hořovice Transfusion Station. "That is why we prepare a surprise for them every year on important days of the year. On Valentine's Day, it's cupcakes with hearts. Another similar event will be on Easter, when we give out chocolate rabbits," the nurse describes. "Of course, it's just a small token for such a worthy activity that the donors do for others, but it still makes them happy. The biggest event we hold for donors is the Blood Donor Day concert. Last year, Miro Žbirka and his band performed and it was an unforgettable experience," he adds.

The blood transfusion station at the Hořovice Hospital is the largest blood donation point in Central Bohemia. In 2018, 11,821 donors came. For the month of January this year, 1004 blood donors, which confirms the average trend of our transfusion station - 1000 donors per month.
