According to the statement of Dr. Ing. Jiří Peřina, Mayor of Hořovice, the reconstruction of the main access road to the hospital will cost around CZK 26 million. The construction works are divided into four stages (see below) and will be completed in October 2018. The management of the town of Hořovice, as well as the hospital management, are aware of the considerable difficulties that the construction works are causing to patients, visitors and hospital staff. We apologize for any complications and ask for your forbearance.
As part of the reconstruction, new safe pedestrian crossings will also be created at the Sun Gate and directly at the hospital premises. A new bus stop will also improve the aesthetic appearance. Due to the already functioning large-capacity car park, the parking spaces along K Nemocnici Street will be reduced, where it will still be possible to park only along the roadway. However, this will significantly improve the road's permeability, which is also desirable in view of the newly planned housing development to the east of the hospital site. The road will also accommodate all the utilities required for this development.
According to the Mayor of Hořovice, the construction work will be carried out in the following four basic stages:
Stage 1: At the very beginning of the project, a part of K Nemocnici Street east of the entrance to the newly built car park to the road towards Tihava will be closed. During the first stage, the section of the mentioned street from Pražská Street to the entrance to the car park at Sluneční brána will also be closed. The access to the hospital will be solved by Vrbnovská Street around the castle wall and also from the direction of Svatý Ján.
Stage 2: The section east of the newly built car park will be made accessible and a temporary entrance to the car park will be built. Access to the car park will therefore be possible via the road to Tihava. Access to the hospital site will be possible via the pavement on K Nemocnici Street from the Sun Gate.
Stage 3: Half of the roundabout will be built at the Sun Gate towards Pražská Street. The car park will be accessible from the road to Tihava.
Stage 4: The second half of the roundabout towards Vrbnovská Street will be completed at the Sun Gate. Access to the hospital will be via the newly reconstructed part of K Nemocnici Street from Pražská Street, as well as from the road to Tihava. Access to the car park will also be provided in this way.
