"The main idea and mission of the Žirafka Endowment Fund is to help and support pediatric patients who are hospitalized at the Hořovice Hospital and their family members during their treatment. The donor can choose whether he wants to donate his financial donation to the neonatal, paediatric or chronic resuscitation and intensive care unit for children. At the same time, the purpose of the fund is to support activities that improve the environment of the ward with paediatric patients, including the equipment with modern equipment and activities aimed at applying the most modern approaches in the treatment of paediatric patients," said Milena Dokoupilová , the head of the fund.
The logo of the Foundation features a giraffe. It was created thanks to the children from the kindergarten on Větrná Street in Hořovice, who drew and painted giraffes according to their own ideas. By combining elements from several of their drawings, the logo was created, which is therefore the work of children and their amazing creativity. All of the children's pictures are on display from 1 June in the hospital, in the waiting room of the internal medicine outpatient clinics on the 1st floor, in a small exhibition to which everyone is cordially invited.
