Children's ward as a zoo

Clients of the children's ward of Hořovice Hospital and their attendants may notice another pleasant change. Thanks to the Acrovyn Imagine system, the outpatient and inpatient areas of the children's ward have acquired an unusual, much cheerier appearance, but at the same time they also provide greater protection.

The main advantage of the Acrovyn Imagine system is its design sense. As this is a children's department, the theme "Wildlife across continents" was chosen as the main pattern and theme for the implementation. "The delivery included the display of 24 exotic animals. For example, a panda, a leopard, an elephant, a giraffe, a chimpanzee or a lemur, which are placed in the children's ward and in the chronic intensive care unit," says Tomas Petsinis, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Hořovice Hospital.

The choice of colours, animals and their backgrounds corresponds to the previous colour concept of the ward. Hořovice Hospital was the first hospital in Europe to equip its children's ward with this system on such a large scale. It combines the two most important characteristics of the building elements - design and protection. "The complete project included consultation and design of the motifs, architectural design of the patterns and animals, drawing of the animals, transferring the motifs into digital form and final installation of the systems along with the final finishing touches. Together with the aesthetic design, this system provides maximum protection against impacts, abrasions, ditching or wear and tear of the building elements", states the deputy from Horovice.
The children's ward has a playroom where children can spend their free time during their hospitalisation. The equipment in the inpatient and outpatient parts of the ward includes various toys, games and building blocks.
