Visitors were welcomed at a stand in the lobby of the hospital entrance, where smiling 4th year students Johana Tafatová and Kristina Ticháčková from the Secondary Medical School in Beroun informed visitors about the International Health Day and offered blood pressure and blood sugar measurements. Visitors were rewarded with an orange or an apple.
"Events like this are very nice," said student Kristina. "It happens that someone finds out that some values are not right during an event like this, and so they actually start to solve it and get treatment based on a random examination," Johana, another student, shared her experience.
The success of the event was evidenced not only by the stand still occupied by visitors, but also by the nearly fifty kilograms of fruit distributed.
The event was also attended by the director of the hospital in Hořovice, MUDr. Michal Průša, who came to greet the students and also had his blood sugar measured. "In the future we will focus even more on events of a similar type, we want to get more information among the public about the importance of not underestimating prevention", promised the director of the hospital.
