Emergency service in the Gynaecology Department

The hospital’s out-of-hours service is available on weekdays outside the provider’s regular consultation hours, from 15:30 to 07:00, and the provision of this healthcare service is subject to a fee of 90 CZK for a clinical examination during on-call hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, including public holidays, the regulatory fee remains unchanged. The attending staff are obliged to collect this fee from patients, or their legal deputies where applicable, in cases specified by law. In the event that urgent care is provided by a physician on duty in the gynaecology and obstetrics department on the third floor, we ask clients for their patience.

The legal deputy and older sibling may visit at any time.

The recommended visiting hours in the gynaecology department are every day from 14:00 to 18:00.

Other visiting times can be arranged in consultation with the attending physician or nurse and taking into account the patient's health condition. In superior rooms, extended visiting hours are a matter of course if the treatment regime is respected. In the IMCU room (intensive care room), the recommended visiting hours are the same, the number of people and the length of the visit depend on the patient's health condition and the agreement with the nursing staff.

Urogynaecological outpatient clinic

Make an appointment: 311 555 000

Specifics of the care provided:

The Urogynecology Outpatient Clinic offers women a comprehensive solution to pelvic floor static disorders - incontinence or urinary retention, various forms of pelvic organ descent and anal incontinence after childbirth, etc.

The equipment of the outpatient clinic enables advanced diagnostics including 4D ultrasound examination of the pelvic floor and is linked to urodynamic examination and cystoscopy possibilities at the urology department.

We advocate a modern approach whereby, after listening carefully to your concerns and carrying out a thorough examination, we are able to provide information which can inform your decision on what treatment you wish to undergo.

We very often discuss various non-operative solutions to problems in collaboration with the physiotherapy department, or through drug therapy. We offer surgical treatment when these methods have failed or are expected to have a high risk of failure. We always respect the woman's wishes regarding the retention or removal of the uterus as part of the reconstruction of the vaginal descent. We strive for a quick and adequate solution according to your possibilities and wishes.

Urogynaecological surgical procedures

Treatment of incontinence:

  • Retropubic Tape Tightening (TVT)
  • Transobturator Tape (TOT)
  • Application of Bulkamide to the urethral wall
  • Application of botulinum toxin into the bladder wall
  • Bladder distention
  • Management of TVT tape complications

Treatment of pelvic organ prolapse:

  • Vaginal reconstructive procedures without implant: anterior vaginoplasty, posterior vaginal wall reconstruction, perineal reconstruction, sacrospinal fixation, paravaginal defect surgery
  • Laparoscopic utero-vaginal suspensions with implant: laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy, laparoscopic sacrohysterocolpopexy, laparoscopic pectropexy
  • Management of complications of vaginal mesh surgery

Important information:

Attend your first appointment, if possible, with a referral from your treating physician, a negative urine culture and possibly a regular cervical cytology smear.

In case of urinary disorders, please, if possible, fill in a micturition diary, or at least count the number of times you urinate per day and night and the frequency of your problems.

If you need to have a urodynamic or cystoscopic examination, you will be given an appointment for this examination at the urology department, the results of which we will then consult in the outpatient clinic or by telephone.

After the urogynaecological procedures have been carried out, you will remain in the care of our outpatient clinic for the necessary time, after which we will transfer you back to the regular care of your gynaecologist.
