The first ever paramedic course in NH, for which we received accreditation this year, was successfully completed.

"To practice the profession of a paramedic, it is necessary to have completed a paramedic course. This year, we have received the authorization from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic to implement the educational program of the accredited qualification course "Sanitarian"," describes Blanka Červenková, the head nurse of the hospital.

Eight women enrolled in the first course, seven of whom passed the final exam.

The course was two months long. During this time, the graduates of the course were trained by the medical and non-medical staff of Hořovice Hospital. During the practical part of the training, the participants got acquainted with the hospital's workplaces where they do not normally get to, e.g. central operating theatres, delivery rooms, central sterilization, paediatric intensive care unit, neonatology.

"We are satisfied with the high success rate in the final exam. I would like to thank our graduate nurses and all the trainers for their active approach to teaching. We will be opening the next course next spring," says the head nurse.

Characteristics of the course:

The qualification course prepares individuals to obtain professional competence to practice as a paramedic for activities in the fields of preventive, curative, rehabilitation, emergency, diagnostic, dispensary (continuous care), laboratory, pharmacy care and autopsy (autopsy) departments, including departments providing highly specialized nursing care, where they will practice their profession under the professional supervision or direct guidance of health professionals qualified to practice without professional supervision.

The exact date and application form for the next course will be posted on the hospital website.
