Every day, they stand by patients in both challenging and joyful moments. Nurses are an essential part of healthcare. With their expertise, empathy and human approach, they help patients and their loved ones cope with often very difficult situations. On 12 May, we commemorated International Nurses' Day at Hospital Hořovice, which belongs to all nursing professions.

"Nurses are in contact with patients on a daily basis and their role is crucial to the functioning of healthcare. In addition to their expertise, they also bring support and a human approach to patients," says Adéla Šubertová, MBA, LL.M.

The thanks were also joined by the Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Hořovice Mgr. Jiří Pichlík, DiS., who has personal experience with the nursing profession. "I know the work of nurses very well and I know how demanding and important it is. I appreciate all the more their daily commitment, patience and the care they give to our patients," he said.

International Nurses' Day is celebrated annually on 12 May in honour of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. The day is not only a symbolic thank you for the work of nurses, but also a reminder of the important role they play in the healthcare system. The nursing profession has long been associated with high responsibility, mental and physical demands and the ability to react quickly in often stressful situations. In addition to professional knowledge, it also requires a high degree of empathy, patience and communication skills. Nurses are the ones who spend the most time with patients and are often the ones who make patients feel safe and secure.

In Hospital Hořovice, which is part of AKESO Holding, we traditionally presented nurses with flowers and tickets to the multiplex as a thank you. The purpose of the whole day was mainly to express our gratitude to nurses for their daily work and commitment, without which patient care would not be possible.

A big thank you goes not only to the nurses, but also to everyone involved in nursing care - orderlies, paramedics and other members of the medical staff. Your work is an indispensable part of how the entire hospital functions and contributes every day to ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Thank you for your professionalism, human touch and the care you give to patients every day.
