"Our pharmacy offers extended advice to patients on the main topic of safe use of medicines. This is without any doubt absolutely essential for successful treatment, which we always want to achieve together with them," says Mgr. Tomáš Veverka, head pharmacist in Horovice.
Patients receive information on the correct and safe use of medicines from many different sources and using various technologies. Some choose the traditional way of personal contact with a health professional, others prefer the internet. "In the pharmacy, not only is extended medication counselling available for patients, but we also have simple and practical tools for them. Many patients take multiple medications at once, while some take only one medication for an acute illness. For both groups, a simple medication schedule is prepared in which they can write down their medication use and keep it visible at home. It is also supplemented with the contact details of the pharmacist so that they can contact him for advice if they are unsure about their medication," explains Mgr. Veverka.
The second aid is the patient information note pads, which are designed in a simple prescription format so that the patient knows that this is an important document for them, with information on the correct use of medicines.
