Hořovice Hospital was one of the six hospitals that jointly organized this symposium. The topic was mainly the transfer of practical experience, procedures for high-risk patients or new procedures during procedures.
"This is a truly outstanding event with the active participation of leading orthopaedists from the Central Bohemia Region and Prague and other participants from all over the country," said Milan Pastucha, MD, Chief of Orthopaedics in Hořovice. "The focus of the congress was completely different from similar symposia. Usually we all take pride in what we have done well, what we are world-class in. But now we were sprinkling ashes on our heads and presenting case studies, where we demonstrated that everything is possible in medicine and that even if standard procedures are followed, completely bizarre complications can occur. The aim of the symposium was to try to develop a discussion with similar departments to our hospital as to how they would approach various problems and complications. I believe that the symposium will be repeated in the future and that its focus on complications will remain a central theme," said Chief Pastucha.
