Little Lukášek was born by caesarean section on 1 January at 0:52 a.m. in the Hořovice Hospital and became the first baby of the Central Bohemian Region in 2026. He was born to his mother Dita Machalická and father David Řepka from Rpet. The joy of his birth is all the greater because his mother Dita successfully overcame breast cancer six years ago. Today, she has passed this difficult period and can fully enjoy motherhood. Her story can be an inspiration for women who have gone through or are going through a similar ordeal.
"Lukášek is a huge miracle for us and a dream come true. The birth was difficult, and in the end ended in a caesarean section. But I am glad that we are both okay. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank the entire staff of the Hořovice Maternity Hospital for their human approach, support and care they gave us during and after the birth. They made us feel in really good hands," said the new mother Dita.
Representatives of Hořovice Hospital were also happy about the birth of the first baby of the new year. The parents were congratulated by the manager of the maternity hospital and head of the neonatal ward MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, head nurse Adéla Šubertová, MBA, and head nurse of the gynaecological ward Mgr. Pavla Fíkarová. They also presented the family with a festive gift from the hospital.
"Every newborn baby is a great joy for us and a fulfilment of the meaning of our work. But we are even more happy that the first baby of the Central Bohemian Region in 2026 was born in our maternity hospital. We wish Lukášek and his parents good health, happiness and beautiful moments together," said MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová.
This special moment was also personally shared by the Governor of the Central Bohemia Region Mgr. Petra Pecková. "The birth of the first baby in the new year is a symbolic beautiful moment. Otherwise, of course, it does not matter to Lukášek and his parents, as well as to everyone who has a baby, whether it is the first or the fiftieth. The head to be healthy. I wish the whole family good health, because they know what a gift it is. And love and many beautiful years together," said the Governor. She presented the mother with the traditional regional gifts, including a financial gift of CZK 10 000 and small gifts.
The congratulators were also joined by the deputy mayor of Hořovice, Eva Kaufmanová, who presented the parents with gifts and wished them much family happiness and joy from their first moments together.
The birth of little Lukášek is not only a beautiful beginning of the new year for his family, but also a symbolic and festive start of the year 2026 for the Hořovice Hospital. It is a great honour for the entire AKESO medical holding, of which the hospital is a part, that this special moment took place here.
