A blooddonor for several decades
He started donating at a time when conditions were very different from today. He had his first donation during his high school years and continued during his military service. The initial decision gradually became a regular and natural part of his life.
Over the years, he has witnessed the transformation of the transfusion station and the entire donation system. He recalls a time when the station used to be full and the donors formed a tight and cohesive group. Travelling together and spending time together after donation was a normal part of donation.
Most of his donations took place in Hořovice. Although he later moved to another town, he remained loyal to our workplace. "There is a good team here," explains Mr Kokoška simply why he returned here after many years.
Giving as a natural part of life
For Mr Kokoška, donating blood was not an extraordinary gesture, but a natural part of his life. He helped without ostentation and without the need for recognition, knowing that every donation could mean a chance for someone else. His story is an inspiration, especially at a time when donors are dwindling.
Thanks and respect
Hořovice Hospital would like to take this opportunity to express its sincere thanks to Mr. Kokoškov for his many years of loyalty, dedication and help to others.
