Seminar of urologists and surgeons

24. 11. 2017

On Thursday, 23 November, a seminar on urology was held at the premises of the Hořovice hospital, led by MUDr. Petr Běhounek. The Pilsen native has been working in Hořovice since June this year as the head of the urology outpatient department and his arrival at the hospital in connection with the staff strengthening of the urology department goes hand in hand with the vision of creating an independent urology department.

The seminar was attended by MUDr. Zuzana Šerklová, head of the surgical department, and ten other doctors from the same department. "The purpose of the seminar was to acquaint the surgical team with new developments in urology and urological surgery. Other topics included the care of urological patients, complications of procedures and options for their management, and also the specifics of acute urological patients, especially in the postoperative period," Dr. Běhounek summarized the results of the seminar.

He adds that the urology outpatient clinic will be introducing several innovations in diagnostics from the new year onwards, ranging from sonographic examinations, to biopsy examinations and some outpatient procedures under local anaesthesia. "The biggest change, however, will be in the field of surgery, which I would like to gradually develop to a comprehensive solution of urological problems," says the doctor from Horovice.
