12.6.2009
Ladies and gentlemen,
As in previous years, the Czech Pharmacy Chamber has prepared a traditional event for 18 June 2009 - the 11th Pharmacy Day. This year we decided to focus on the topic of travel.
For most of us, travelling is associated with pleasant experiences, discovering new areas or getting to know other people's lives. However, very often our trips are associated with unpleasant health consequences. The vast majority of these can be easily prevented or at least mitigated. Do you know how?
We've focused on three topics, but you can certainly ask about anything related to travel and health.
- The first topic is information on travel vaccination options. Do you think it is only necessary or advisable when traveling to exotic countries? We will try to correct your opinion, because many vaccinations are recommended by experts for travel in the Czech Republic. As a small gift, we have prepared a "Traveler's Vaccination Card", in which you can write down the vaccinations you have received and which can make it much easier for you to find your way around.
- The second topic is first aid kits. A properly equipped first aid kit can literally be vital, whether it is a travel first aid kit for a particular area or a "regular" car first aid kit. Of course, we also check the usability of the individual components of the first aid kit you already have and bring to the pharmacy. Expired medicines or dressing materials definitely need to be replaced with new, often more modern and effective products.
- Sunscreen is also part of your travel kit. Do you know what phototype you are, how long you can be exposed to the sun without risk, and what products you should use to protect your health from the effects of excessive sun exposure?
Your pharmacists.
