The team consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing staff and administrative staff from the Hořovice Hospital, the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the Multiscan Oncology and Radiodiagnostic Centre in Pardubice could not bear any other name than that of the holding company to which all these health facilities belong. The AKESO crew, which consisted of 25 competitors, gathered at the camp on Friday, when they had the opportunity to try dragon boat riding, and on Saturday they got on board ready to win.
"This is the sixth time we are going this year. Every year we try to put on the best performance possible with our colleagues. I think that although we don't train like other crews throughout the year and basically tune our pace and style on the day of the race itself, I dare say that this year we paddled the best of all the years. We simply paddled as one team," said the captain of the crew Lenka Lučaníková, executive assistant of AKESO holding. "Throughout the day, the mood in our tent, where we had refreshments, was excellent. We had a beautiful view of the Berounka River, so we could watch the races of the other boats. I hope we will meet again next year and try to place well."
