The counselling centre works within the surgical department of MUDr. Zuzana Šerklová. "The chief surgeon is very friendly towards the functioning of the consultancy and the whole mammary team and the cooperation with her is smooth. We perform clinical examinations, educational activities focusing on breast self-examination and possible prevention. Ultrasound examination, mammography, or magnetic resonance imaging, core cut biopsy or other specialized examinations are indicated and performed in cooperation with the specialized, accredited workplace of Prof. Jan Daneš in Beroun," says MUDr. Kateřina Stehlíková.
Patients who require surgical intervention are operated on after individual consultation of each case in an interdisciplinary team at the surgical department of Hořovice Hospital. "The basic philosophy of our mammary consultancy is an individual and sensitive approach to each type of disease and to each patient. We focus on the issue of benign and malignant diseases of the breast gland of the entire population of different age categories, including children. Once the diagnosis is complete, we decide on the tactics for treating the disease, preferring tailored treatment according to each patient's needs," says the doctor from Horovice.
