Osteoarthritis of the hip joint is a very common musculoskeletal disorder in the Czech population, which, in addition to pain and functional impairment of the hip joint, also causes pain and degenerative disability of the lumbar spine. In advanced stages of the disease, the solution is most often total hip arthroplasty, which has been performed in the Czech Republic since the 1970s and is rated as one of the most effective operations ever.
