Maternity Hospital U Sluneční brány in Hořovice Hospital now has 4 delivery rooms

The top-quality equipment and the approach of the staff secured the Hořovice maternity hospital the position of the largest maternity hospital in the Central Bohemia Region. In 2018, 1,789 births took place here. This year, 1507 babies have already been born at Hořovice Hospital and the number is still growing, despite the fact that since February, the premises of the maternity hospital have undergone a complete building renovation, including the renewal of equipment and facilities.

"The modernisation of the maternity hospital is another step towards building a top-quality medical facility in the Czech Republic. Since the privatisation of the hospital in 2007, we have been gradually reconstructing, modernising and adapting all departments of the hospital. We have built new buildings for some wards, expanded some wards and in the case of the maternity ward we have proceeded to a complete structural modification," says Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis, the owner of Hořovice Hospital. "The amount invested exceeded 48 million crowns, but I am convinced that it was a good step. The maternity ward at Hořovice Hospital is renowned throughout the country not only for its beautiful facilities, but also for its helpful and friendly staff," he adds.

"The maternity ward now boasts 4 delivery boxes, which are not only equipped with the latest instrumentation, but are also built to provide even greater comfort for the parents," says Leoš Teslík, M.D., Head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department at Hořovice Hospital , and adds: "The entire design of the maternity ward was designed to give mothers-to-be a feeling of security and absolute comfort during such an important life event as the birth of a baby. We will welcome the new parents in the new premises on Monday, 11 November 2019."
