On Sunday, 20 May, the Hořovice Hospital actively participated in the 4th meeting of providers of social and related services in the Hořovice region. As part of the afternoon event, the hospital's medical staff measured the blood sugar and blood pressure of approximately 100 people. Resuscitation mannequins were also available to the visitors to practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

"Approximately 150 people stopped by our booth and their values were pretty good. What surprised them a lot were the procedures in providing first aid, which have changed a lot over the past years," said Blanka Červenková, head nurse at the Hořovice hospital. "We had with us a basic teaching resuscitation manikin for practicing CPR. The torso is in a realistic size (corresponds to the basic physiognomy) of an adult human being and is created for realistic training of all the steps of CPR," described the equipment of the Hořovice Hospital paramedics Bc. Rostislav Hájek, DiS., head nurse of the ARO. "As far as changes in first aid are concerned, a great emphasis is now placed on cardiac massage. Specifically, the depth and speed of chest compressions versus mouth-to-mouth breathing, which is slowly being phased out."

The meeting of providers of social and related services in the Hořovice region took place in the courtyard of the Old Castle in Hořovice. The programme included a performance by majorettes, the evaluation of the Safe Town competition and a bouncy castle for children.
