The main organizer of the conference is the Head of the Surgical Department of Hořovice Hospital Zuzana Šerclová, MD. "This is a unique opportunity to meet surgeons, gastroenterologists, nurses and workers from other disciplines who care for patients with IBD," says the doctor. "The programme is full of interesting topics, including new developments in the surgical and conservative treatment of non-specific inflammatory bowel disease, and is divided into practical and lecture parts. I would like to thank all the companies and the Hořovice Hospital that supported us and made the event possible. This year's conference was again a pleasant and beneficial experience for us, not only thanks to the opportunity to exchange experiences and joint discussions, but also thanks to the beautiful premises of the Zbiroh Castle, where the conference is held every year," he adds.
The main topics of this year's conference were ulcerative colitis: conservative and surgical treatment of ulcerative colitis "up to date"; ileo-pouch-anal-anastomosis: quality of life and complications; intestinal superinfection and IBD; incontinence in IBD patients; physiotherapy of IBD patients.
As part of the professional program at the conference venue, there was also an accompanying exhibition of pharmacological companies, medical equipment, nutrition products, etc.
The sponsors of this year's 5th edition were the Working Group for IBD, CGS ČLS JEP and the Section of IBD Surgery, CCHS ČLS JEP.
The conference has already a permanent place among professional medical congresses. Every year there is more interest in participation, as evidenced by the increasing number of interested physicians and nurses.
