Hospital Hořovice cordially invites you to a charity ice hockey MATCH FOR CANCER RESEARCH

At HC Spartak Žebrák, autumn is traditionally a time of solidarity, support and charitable activities. This year, too, the club is organising a special sporting and social event, which, since its inception in 2022, has become a wonderful and integral part of the club’s tradition. Hospital Hořovice and the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre in Pardubice greatly appreciate the opportunity to be part of this project, which helps cancer patients, and warmly invite all ice hockey fans and the general public to attend.

A ice hockey match that helps

The charity project ‘MATCH FOR ONCOLOGY’ is now in its fifth year. Its main aim is not only to provide an exciting sporting experience, but above all to support the Oncology Day Centre at Hospital Hořovice and to help patients who are going through a difficult time in their lives.

The Oncology Outpatient Centre at Hospital Hořovice is a branch of the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre in Pardubice. Thanks to this collaboration, patients in Hořovice are provided with specialised oncological care, with an emphasis on the accessibility of treatment and an individual approach to each patient.

This year’s event will feature a friendly ice hockey match between HC Spartak Žebrák and HC Letci Letňany. Thanks to the generosity of partners, supporters and the public , a total of 550,719 CZK has been raised and donated over the past four years . This sum represents significant assistance and, at the same time, proof that through joint efforts we can bring hope and support where it is most needed.

Radko Gudas is the patron of this year’s event

It is a great honour for the organisers and Hospital Hořovice that Radko Gudas, a Czech international ice hockey player, Olympian and NHL player, has become the patron of this year’s event. There was also great interest in the charity auction of his signed ice hockey jersey, which has already found a buyer. A jersey belonging to Lukáš Provod, a Czech international footballer and player for the Prague club SK Slavia Praha, will also be included in the charity auction. Fans thus have a unique opportunity to acquire a valuable sporting memento whilst supporting a good cause.

As is tradition, the match will be played in specially made jerseys, designed exclusively for this event. After the match, the shirts from both teams will be offered up for a charity auction. The proceeds, together with further contributions from partners and supporters, will go towards supporting the Oncology Day Centre at Hospital Hořovice, which is headed by Chief Physician Dr Martin Šmakal.
