Michal Průša, M.D., MBA, Director of the Hořovice Hospital, greeted the participants at the opening of the conference and wished them fruitful results. "There are relatively few conferences dedicated to neonatology in the Czech Republic. I am therefore very glad that our neonatology department managed to organize such a successful event where dozens of doctors and nurses from all corners of the country could exchange valuable information and experience in the field", says Milena Dokoupilová, MD, head of the neonatology department in Hořovice and the main organizer of this pioneering event. "Our conference was dedicated to case reports of newborns from the 30th week of pregnancy and was intended for medical and non-medical staff of neonatal wards. I must say that our initiative met with unprecedented interest, but unfortunately the accommodation capacities in Hořovice have their limits. I hope that the presentations of neonatal case studies were interesting and beneficial for our audience and I look forward to seeing you again next year," says the Hořovice chief medical officer.
A very special moment for the conference participants was the launching of a new book by Chief Medical Officer M. Dokoupilová and her colleague MUDr. Martin Gregory, Chief of the Children's Department of Strakonice Hospital. The new handbook "Care for newborns and infants", is intended especially for new mothers and answers the most common questions about the care of the baby's health, breastfeeding, vaccinations, hygiene and all the needs of newborns and infants in a very clear way.
Both days of the conference were marked by joint work and exchange of experiences not only in the official program, but also in private discussions of all participants. Satisfaction with the course of the first days of neonatal case studies was also expressed by the owner of the hospital in Hořovice Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis. He evaluates the conference as an exceptional meeting of neonatology experts from all over the country.
During both days of the conference, the participants had the opportunity to visit the interiors of Zbiroh Castle in the social part of the event.
Appreciation for the whole event belongs not only to the management of the Hořovice Hospital, which made this unique meeting possible and financially ensured most of it, but also to the conference partners and the organizers of both days, led by the headmistress Milena Dokoupilová.
