An exhibition of nudes by "our" Dr. Jiří Steinbach, Deputy Head of the Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Department - ARO, was opened on Tuesday 21 October in the Old Castle Gallery in Hořovice with the participation of dozens of visitors.

Dozens of visitors came to see the opening of the exhibition, including a large number of the doctor's colleagues.

Looking at the beautiful photos, everyone present was keenly interested in what the doctor draws inspiration from. "A woman is like a landscape, which also has its seasons and its moods", said Jiří Steinbach. "She can be romantic and stormy. I like landscapes, that's why I like to photograph nudes. I try to conceptualise the human body in terms of esotericism, romance, feelings and emotions," added the doctor from Horovice.

The photographic work of Jiří Steinbach was introduced by the gallery owner and photographer Veronika Souralová, who revealed that the author of the nudes has been a member of the free association of Beroun Photographers since 2011. As a means of expressing the aesthetics of the naked body, he uses the play of lines, contrasts, light
and shadows. The intention of his work is not realism and naturalistic depiction of nudity, but above all the expression of inner emotions, feelings and moods. To achieve the final effect, he often uses photomontage with digital data and classic film materials and as he says "photography is for me a window into the world of people and things, an opportunity to penetrate into human nature and beneath the surface of things".

Photographs of female nudes have been taken gradually since 1996 and visitors to the Old Castle Gallery in Hořovice can view these images until 22 November on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1 to 6 pm. Jiří Steinbach is not presenting himself in the region for the first time. The inhabitants of the Beroun region could see his exhibition, for example, in the Tmaň Gallery Čert'ák, while some of his photographs were awarded at other renowned exhibitions.

"The first photos are from the time when I was studying medicine. Subsequently, I had a long break," said Jiří Steinbach, adding that he has been taking up photography more seriously only in the last ten years. And how does he manage to combine his duties at the hospital in Hořovice with his hobby? "I don't do photography professionally, so I don't have to do it regularly. It is a matter of opportunity and above all it is a relaxing affair," said the Hořovice doctor, who is also interested in music, medieval history and art history.
