"Modern non-invasive regimens are currently the primary form of respiratory support, which is increasingly replacing artificial lung ventilation," says Milena Dokoupilová, MD, Chief of Neonatology at Hořovice Hospital, about the new device. "This modular ventilator is specific for the possibility to use not only non-invasive modes (nCPAP, DuoPAP, Vapoterm), but also the whole range of guaranteed modes for artificial pulmonary ventilation if necessary," adds the chief medical officer.
A compact, fully equipped, high-end ventilator is also the choice for providing comprehensive ventilatory support, with software specifically developed to ventilate newborns.
The device was partly financed by the Žirafka Endowment Fund, which was established to help and support all paediatric patients hospitalized in the children's wards of Hořovice Hospital. "I would like to thank the previous donors who made it possible to purchase such an important and necessary device for the neonatal intensive care unit," says Milena Dokoupilová, MD, who is the founder of the Foundation.
