On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, which falls on 14 June 2019, we prepared a musical concert for donors by the band Žlutý pes, which took place at the Plzeňka Cultural Centre in Beroun. Around 400 donors came to celebrate this meritorious activity. During the evening programme, one of the donors present was drawn to win a trip to Greece for two people worth CZK 50,000. This year the winner was Mrs. Peřinová, who has over 80 free donations.
"The number of people who come to our transfusion station is growing. Last year alone , 11,821 donors gave blood. We presented several jubilee plaques, such as 46 golden crosses of the third degree for 80 donations and 1 golden cross of the second degree for 120 donations," says the director of the Hořovice Hospital Michal Průša, MD. "I would like to thank all the people who contribute to saving lives in this way. By donating blood, you are donating life," concludes the director of Hořovice Hospital.
