Ban on visits to the Hořovice Hospital

11. 3. 2020

Due to the epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic, related to the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in Europe, we inform the public about the procedures set up at the Hořovice Hospital.

The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic orders all providers of inpatient health care services to PROHIBIT VISITATION of patients of health care facilities.

The exception applies to:

  • Minor patients;
  • patients with limited capacity;
  • maternity patients;
  • patients in the terminal stage of terminal illness.

However, we ask everyone to treat their presence in the hospital responsibly and to enter the hospital in a healthy manner as a visitor.

The main entrance to the hospital is closed from 15:30 every day, so you must use the central reception entrance.

  • IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN ITALY, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic instructs all persons returning to the Czech Republic from a stay in Italy between 7 March 2020 to contact their GP who will decide on quarantine.

  • If YOU HAVE SIGNS OF RESPIRATORY ILLNESS (cough, increased body temperature/fever, difficulty breathing, fatigue) and you have been in places declared as risk areas for the spread of infection by COVID-19 , please contact TELEPHONE No. 112 or the locally competent regional health station and consult your health condition with the staff of the epidemiological department.

The 112 operator will receive a call from a person suspected of being infected with COVID-19, will ask for the region of residence and the telephone number (preferably mobile) of the caller, and will pass on the information to the local Regional Health Service, which will then inform you of the next step.

  • If you have any SIGNS of respiratory illness (cough, fever, body temperature, difficulty breathing, fatigue) and you have NOT lived in Italy or other places declared as risk areas for the spread of COVID-19, contact your GP by telephone.
