For the second time, the health workers from Horovice joined the Movember campaign, both by growing a decoration under their noses and symbolically by wearing a sign with the campaign logo. The engagement of about fifteen doctors and health workers from Hořovice ended on Wednesday 30 November with a traditional group photo (see photo gallery) in front of the Department of Orthopaedics, whose head doctor Milan Pastucha and almost all orthopaedic doctors became the driving force behind the event. Doctors and medical staff of other departments, such as ARO or gynaecology, were also represented in promoting Movember. The Hořovice Hospital implemented its own collection to which not only employees but also visitors to the hospital could contribute.
"We have received only positive comments from patients and colleagues alike," comments Chief Medical Officer Milan Pastucha on the response to his participation in the campaign. "Movember has been running for several years and is aimed at preventing and treating serious diseases. I believe that every attention in this direction serves a good cause," summarises the results of his involvement in this year's Movember.
This year's strategy for men's health care was built on three traditional pillars: know - prevent - help. "Know" primarily means supporting scientific research projects, improving and expanding treatment options, and providing scholarships. "Prevent" is mainly about education regarding men's health. A series of cutting-edge audiovisual materials on all urological cancers have been produced under the auspices of the highest professional bodies, the Urological and Oncological Societies. "Help" represents assistance in the implementation of the purchase of instrumentation.
