It is not news that the hospital in Hořovice is largely engaged in prevention and public education. The first aid courses are the "floor" of the anaesthesiology and resuscitation department, which teaches not only adults how to behave in cases where first aid is needed.

Another of the series of events took place in the Zdice kindergarten under the leadership of Petr Kotva and Markéta Mulačová, paramedics from the ARO department. Boys and girls turned into little doctors and doctors and saved first a teddy bear and then themselves. "We taught the children how to stop bleeding, fix a fracture, and even how to resuscitate properly," said the paramedics about their visit to the kindergarten. "We were surprised ourselves how skilled the children were and how good they were at basic first aid. They overcame their fear thanks to the cuddly patient and then tried to save a human being. We are convinced that the basics of first aid should be taught to preschool children, as the principles are much better instilled in them. Satisfaction from the visit was mutual, so we were definitely not the last time here," both lecturers add together.
