A Day Dedicated to Physiotherapy
World Physiotherapy Day falls on 8 September every year. World Physiotherapy Day itself was established in 1996. It serves to highlight the work of physiotherapists and their contribution to patients and society as a whole.
Physiotherapy plays an irreplaceable role not only in restoring mobility, but also in prevention and healthcare. Its significance goes far beyond the notion of rehabilitation following an injury or operation. Professionally guided exercise can help people maintain or regain abilities that are essential for their everyday lives.
This year’s theme: heart and vascular health
Each year, World Physiotherapy Day focuses on a specific theme. This year’s theme is cardiovascular disease and stroke.
This year’s theme highlights the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, care and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
It thus serves as a reminder that physical activity is not merely a means of maintaining good physical fitness. It also has its place as part of healthcare and in helping patients regain the highest possible level of independence.
Physiotherapy at Hospital Hořovice
The Physiotherapy Department at Hospital Hořovice provides therapeutic care to both outpatients and inpatients across all age groups and collaborates with all the hospital’s clinical departments. Physiotherapy care is also provided to patients in all departments of the hospital.
The range of care provided is extensive. It includes, for example, individual therapeutic exercises, mobilisation and soft tissue techniques, kinesiotaping, vestibular rehabilitation and specialised respiratory physiotherapy.
The aim of physiotherapy is to maintain, restore or replace the optimal function of the musculoskeletal system. The importance of movement is not limited to the musculoskeletal system alone; it also extends to other bodily functions.
Our thanks go to our physiotherapists
However, it is above all the people behind the individual methods, exercises and professional procedures who make the difference. World Physiotherapy Day is therefore a fitting occasion to thank the entire teamat Hospital Hořovice for their daily work, expertise, patience and the care they devote to our patients. On this occasion, the Director,Mgr. Jiří Pichlík, DiS., and the Head Nurse , Adéla Šubertová, MBA, LL.M., personally thanked our physiotherapists today.
We would like to thank all our physiotherapists for their dedication and for the work through which they help patients on their journey towards mobility, greater independence and a return to everyday life.
