More and more people are choosing to donate blood

Individuals, couples and groups donate blood. Often they are friends, employees of the same company or various associations and societies.

Today, students of the Václav Hraběte Grammar School in Hořovice came to donate blood. Their teacher brought 18 new first-time donors. "My grandmother's life was extended by several years thanks to blood donors. I see a great sense in blood donation and I am glad that my students see it the same way," commented the visit to the blood transfusion station of class teacher Martin Solař, who teaches physics and chemistry. "This is the thirteenth time I have donated blood myself and I brought my students for the fourth time. I'm sure we will continue," he said.

Joachim Barrand Gymnasium is among the regular student donors. This group of students is always accompanied by their teacher, Marie Stepnicka. "For the ninth season, students from the 3rd and 4th grades have participated in the blood donation, up to three times a year. This year, students of the Gymnasium J. Barrand from Beroun have already made their 24th blood donation and can boast of more than two hectolitres of blood donated," comments Ms Štěpničková.

Donors can make an appointment by phone between 10:00 and 14:00 at 311 559 402 (head nurse Jana Šrámková) or after receiving an invitation. Donors can also use this phone number for any questions.
